Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps on iOS in UAE - Q1 2022

During the first quarter of 2022, the top five navigation and maps applications on iOS in the United Arab Emirates showed varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the performance of these popular apps.

Google Maps maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, starting with approximately 13.6K downloads in the first week and peaking at around 14.3K by the end of March. Active users displayed a slight increase, beginning at 1.2M and fluctuating slightly to end the quarter at about 1.19M.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a notable increase in downloads, starting the quarter with around 3.4K and reaching up to 4.1K in mid-March. Active users fluctuated but showed a growth trend, starting at 281K and reaching approximately 286K by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth saw a modest increase in downloads, starting at 1.5K and peaking at 2.7K in mid-January before stabilizing around 1.7K towards the end of the quarter. Active users also showed a slight increase, beginning at 8.9K and ending at 8.7K.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation showed steady download numbers, starting at 1.5K and ending at 1.6K. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 8.2K and ending at approximately 8.9K.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) had a peak in downloads at the end of March, reaching approximately 3.7K, while active users saw a significant rise from 1.1K at the beginning of the quarter to about 2K by the end. Revenue fluctuated slightly, peaking at $33 in mid-January and ending at $16 in the last week of March.
